Conflate - Potassium Sorbate

Potassium sorbate it is the inactive salt of sorbic acid. It readily dissolves in water where it converts to sorbic acid, its active form, at a low pH. Sorbic acid is very pH dependent.

While sorbic acid is naturally occurring in some fruits (like the berries of the mountain ash), virtually all of the world’s production of sorbic acid, from which potassium sorbate is derived, is manufactured synthetically, and is a nature-identical compound chemically equivalent to the molecule found in nature.

Stability :

Potassium sorbates stable for 3 years from the date of production. Physical stability and appearance may change before the end of shelf-life if not stored in the well-closed original packaging, dry and at room temperature.

Why Use Potassium Sorbate?

Potassium sorbate inhibits the growth of mold, yeast and other microorganisms and thus increasing the preservation time of food products.
Potassium sorbate gives best results in compare to other preservatives, as it is comparatively mild in nature.
Potassium sorbate is widely used in Soft Drinks, Wine, processed meats, alcoholic drinks, Cosmetics etc.
